Job summary

NG Bailey in London is seeking an electrically biased Senior Cost Engineer to join our Work Winning team. You will develop accurate and competitive estimates for MEP projects from pre-tender through to post-tender stage.

Working with the Bid and Cost Management teams, you will shape pricing strategy, identify risks, challenge solutions and propose cost-effective alternatives to give NG Bailey a competitive edge. You will also mentor junior Cost Engineers and help grow capability across the team.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical estimating / cost engineering experience within MEP or building services.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to produce take-offs and measures.
• Experience pricing electrical labour, materials, subcontractors and plant.
• Understanding tender and work-winning processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for MEP projects, focusing on electrical services.
• Produce detailed take-offs and measures from drawings and specs to establish project costs.
• Price labour, materials, subcontractors and plant using current market information.
• Develop bid and pricing strategies with Bid Managers and Cost Managers.
• Challenge solutions and identify cost-effective approaches.
• Assess supplier and subcontractor quotations with technical experts.
• Keep up to date with market pricing to stay competitive.
• On tender process, ensure submissions are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
• Mentor junior Cost Engineers and share knowledge.
