Job summary

Lynx Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls & Automation Project Design Engineer in Norfolk to manage projects from enquiry through to delivery, testing and commissioning. You will design electrical schematics, control panel layouts and associated documentation, using EPLAN and AutoCAD, with strong knowledge of EN60204 and BS7671.

The salary ranges £45,000–£50,000 DOE, with a 40-hour week, pension, on-site parking, training and development, and opportunities to travel

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design, industrial automation, or project engineering.
• Strong knowledge of control systems and LV switchgear.
• Experience using EPLAN and AutoCAD for schematics and panel layouts.
• Understanding of EN60204 and BS7671 standards.
• Experience with control panel and backplate design.
• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of UKCA/CE; UL 508A advantageous.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Manage control systems and LV switchgear projects from enquiry to delivery.
• Produce electrical schematics, control panel layouts and docs.
• Prepare quotations, estimates and technical proposals.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and production teams.
• Support FAT, site commissioning, fault finding and handover.
• Maintain build documentation for volume-manufactured products.
• Prepare FDS and related technical documentation.
• Support post-installation and call-out activities.
