Job summary

Lynx Recruitment Ltd in Norfolk is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design LV switchgear and power distribution systems, guiding projects from enquiry through manufacture, testing and commissioning. The role requires an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, LV switchgear or panel design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of IEC 61439 and BS7671.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in LV switchgear, control panel or power distribution design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Good understanding of electrical protection systems and power distribution principles.
• Experience specifying electrical components and equipment.
• Understanding of electrical manufacturing and panel build processes.
• Experience managing projects from design through to delivery.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers, suppliers and production teams.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design LV switchgear, power distribution systems and associated control systems.
• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Cubic's Galaxy software.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and production teams.
• Prepare quotations, project estimates and technical proposals.
• Specify electrical components per project requirements and standards.
• Support FAT, installation, commissioning and handover activities.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing/build documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with British/international standards.
• Provide technical support and assist with post-installation fault finding.
