Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager for the Grid & Digital Solutions Department, based in Torness, Scotland. You will lead all on-site electrical construction activities, manage site teams and subcontractors, and drive safe, on-time delivery within budget.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in electrical construction within major energy infrastructure projects, strong planning and coordination skills, and a solid grasp of QA/QC and HSE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical construction within large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including power generation, substations, HV systems, HVDC, or transmission projects.
• Proven experience managing site construction teams and subcontractors in complex EPC environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction planning, execution methodologies, progress monitoring, and project delivery.
• Solid understanding of electrical installations, constructability reviews, and site execution best practices.
• Experience in contract administration, cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
• Familiarity with QA/QC requirements, HSE regulations, and international construction standards.
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all electrical construction activities on site, ensuring alignment with project specs, schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and vendors for efficient execution and resource utilization.
• Drive construction planning and execution strategies to deliver works safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor construction progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Review construction methodologies and installation sequences to optimize productivity and constructability.
• Ensure timely availability of labor, materials, equipment, and tools for construction activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, Commissioning and Project Management teams for seamless delivery.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
• Support progress measurement, reporting, forecasting, and project controls activities.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with project specifications and industry standards.
