Job summary

NRL is seeking a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to lead RIBA Stage 3 design for significant nuclear projects in Glasgow. You will serve as the Electrical Lead for essential systems while managing a small team of engineers.

This position involves ensuring high-integrity outcomes within stringent regulatory environments and offers a 12-month contract with a hybrid work model.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to lead RIBA Stage 3 scheme design for major nuclear‑related infrastructure in Glasgow. You will act as the Electrical Lead for safety‑implicated EC&I systems, covering HV/LV distribution, building services, and complex communications networks. The position includes leading a small engineering team and ensuring high‑integrity design delivery within a regulated environment.

What you will need

• Experience delivering RIBA Stage 3 design within nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Strong technical competence across HV, LV, building services, and communications systems.
• Leadership capability to manage and task a team of 5–6 engineers effectively.
• Design governance expertise including risk management, assumptions control, and change management.
• Ability to produce technical scope and resource‑loaded documentation for design changes.
