Job summary

WSP's Environmental Assessment and Management team is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant to lead environmental inputs for energy T&D infrastructure projects. You will work with a range of technical specialists and design teams to improve environmental performance across sectors.

You will manage projects from bidding through delivery, supervise teams, and oversee budget and quality, while building client relationships and helping win new business.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar.
• Chartered Environmental Status and IEMA membership or equivalent.
• Excellent experience of EIA processes with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation.
• Strong report writing and attention to detail.
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects (rail, highways, energy).
• Comprehensive project management including commercial and risk aspects.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental inputs to project designs and assessments.
• Manage bidding, project delivery, and financials.
• Grow energy T&D sector offer and drive new business.
• Provide environmental advice to clients and teams.
• Oversee planning applications, EA/EIA, route optioneering, stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure quality, health and safety, and performance.
• Build client relationships and identify resourcing and scheduling opportunities.
• Support proposals and business development.
• Promote innovative techniques and junior development.
• Foster inclusive workplace and health and safety culture.
