Job summary

WSP in the UK is seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in Manchester. You will collaborate with environmental specialists and design teams to manage environmental inputs from feasibility through planning and construction.

The role emphasizes delivering high-quality EIA, reporting, and environmental management plans, while developing innovative techniques and mentoring junior colleagues within a safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar
• Chartered Environmental Status (or pursuing) and IEMA membership or equivalent
• Experience of EIA processes in multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation
• Post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments
• Understanding of project management, including commercial/risk, forecasting, and QA
• Experience in bid preparation and work winning
• Experience liaising with cross-discipline teams and external bodies
• Strong verbal and written communication and report writing
• Promoting health, safety and wellbeing culture

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental advice to clients and project teams.
• Coordinate environmental inputs across sectors from feasibility to delivery.
• Lead EIA submissions, scoping, and Environmental Statements.
• Manage projects including budgeting, scheduling and quality.
• Build relationships with clients and identify opportunities.
• Support business development and proposals.
• Promote innovative techniques (Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, Future Ready EIA).
• Upskill junior colleagues and foster safety culture.
• Contribute to WSP business strategy and self-motivated goals.
