Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to join its Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK. You will lead environmental inputs for projects across sectors, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and driving environmental excellence from feasibility to handover.

You will manage EIA processes, engage with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to business development while upholding health, safety and wellbeing standards across the team.

Qualifications

• A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar.
• Chartered Environmental Status sought with IEMA membership or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of EIA processes and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of environmental and planning legislation relevant to projects.
• Post-qualified experience coordinating environmental assessments across diverse projects.
• Appreciation of project management: commercial, risk, forecasting and QA.
• Experience in bid preparation and work-winning activities.
• Experience liaising with cross-discipline teams, clients and external bodies.
• Strong verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
• Promoting health, safety and wellbeing culture within teams.

Responsibilities

• Providing environmental advice to clients, project managers and colleagues.
• Collaborating with environmental specialists and engineers to promote sustainable design and enhancements.
• Delivering environmental inputs including EIA screening, scoping, studies and Environmental Statements.
• Managing projects with regard to technical quality, commercial performance and HSE.
• Building relationships with clients and identifying resourcing, scheduling and strategy opportunities.
• Contributing to proposals, bid strategies and business development initiatives.
• Developing innovative techniques to enhance environmental assessment approaches.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and promoting an inclusive workplace culture.
