Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a Deputy Principal Educational Psychologist to lead a growing Educational Psychology Service (EPS). The role combines strategic leadership with direct supervision of teams and ongoing professional development.

You will lead educational psychology teams, promote inclusion for vulnerable children, and apply psychological principles to SEND and at-risk students. Training and research to strengthen early intervention across education and social care settings

Qualifications

• Strong background in educational psychology with the ability to apply psychological principles.
• Experience leading and supporting teams in complex situations.
• Inclusion of children in vulnerable situations, including those involved in youth justice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise educational psychology teams and senior leadership.
• Promote social inclusion and social justice for all Nottinghamshire children and young people.
• Apply psychological principles to support SEND, children in care, and those at risk of exclusion.
• Engage in training, research, and project work to enhance early intervention across settings.
• Collaborate with the Principal Educational Psychologist to shape and develop the EPS.
