Job summary

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner to join the Mental Health Support Teams across Sunderland and South Tyneside. The role focuses on early intervention, low-intensity CBT, and supporting schools to promote resilience and emotional wellbeing.

You will supervise junior EMHPs, train staff, and lead clinical and caseload supervision, while developing whole-school approaches and coordinating locality activity.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing in education or equivalent.
• EMHP Supervision qualification or willingness to complete training.
• Senior Wellbeing Practitioner training or willingness to attend.
• Postgraduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health or related area.
• Evidence of providing supervision and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based, low-intensity interventions in schools.
• Provide group work and targeted support to children and young people.
• Deliver supervision of clinical caseload.
• Provide consultation and training to education staff.
• Lead and coordinate MHST activities within locality.
• Engage in training and service development.
• Promote Whole School Approach to mental health.
