We have anexciting opportunity to be part of South Tynesides Mental Health Support Team(MHST) The Healthy Minds Team as a Senior Education Mental HealthPractitioner / Senior Wellbeing Practitioner. The post holder will work collaboratively with our education sites across the cityto provide early intervention and preventative evidence-based interventions tochildren and young people to promote resilience and support their emotionalwellbeing. The post holder will be responsible for working in a timely fashion,building sound and positive relationships with schools, aid in deliveringconsultation and training, and be a positive and professional role model forthe service. The post holder will have a specific role in supporting trainees,newly qualified and existing qualified EMHPs through clinical and caseloadsupervision, training, and providing clinical leadership.
The post holderwill be expected to work with their school settings to build and develop apositive mental health ethos through a whole school approach model, and willidentify individual needs of the school and work collaboratively to develop andimplement an action plan.
The post holderwill be an experienced (Senior) / Education Mental Health Practitioner/ SeniorWellbeing Practitioner, who understand the aims and objectives of the national MentalHealth Support Team initiative set out in the Mental Health Green Paper.
The role of the Senior EMHP / SWPand aims of the MHST include:
Support children and young peoplewithin an education setting by delivering clinical evidence-based therapeuticinterventions based on a Low Intensity CBT model.
Delivering evidence-basedgroup work programmes of low-level and preventative support for children andyoung people in accordance with their needs and age.
Deliverevidence-based support to parents
Support schoolprofessionals with the provision of advice, consultation and training
Workcollaboratively with schools to deliver Whole School Approach to mental health,such as workshops, assemblies, class based activities.
Be able to reachthose children and young people who find it hard to access services.
Deliver clinicaland caseload supervision
Oversee juniormembers of the team
Offer support andguidance to team
Engage in furthertraining as required to support the role and clinical delivery of the service.

To work as a member of the Mental Health Support Teams in Sunderland/South Tynesideproviding an education based mental health service to children and young people.
This includes the direct provision of evidence-based interventions and outcomefocused standards of care to children and families/carers.
The delivery ofhigh-quality training, consultation, and support to other Education staff.
To deliver aWhole School Approach to developing positive culture of mental health withinthe school environment.
To deliver ofclinical and caseload supervision. To support the facilitation and developmentof clinical development and expertise within the team.
To lead,motivate and support the team.
To support withservice development and innovative models.
To support withclinical governance and quality monitoring, ongoing research and audit ofpractice.
To workautonomously, assessing child/young person needs, identify and implement a planof care and initiate appropriate holistic research based heath information andcare.
Act as acluster lead over an allocated group of schools and have oversight of EMHPs tosupport the delivery of all three functions of MHST.
To take a lead/ champion role in an area of specialist area of interest relevant to an MHST.
Engage infurther training required for the role / service delivery.
The service will be delivered from Education bases as an integral part of anagreed iTHRIVE multi-agency model of Children and Young Peoples Mental HealthService provision.
Work collaboratively with multi professional teams to ensure practice isefficient, effective, evidence based and safe
This will be achieved by:

Bringing people together to develop a shared localvision with service users as equal partners
Assessing community assets, resources, needs andissues
Empowering community members to identify localissues and articulate solutions
Linking in with Community Mental Health Services(i.e. CYPS, IAPT, CTT)
