Job summary

JCB is seeking an Senior EDS Engineer to support the development of electrical systems for current and future products. You will design, integrate, test and validate vehicle electrical architectures and components, working in a multidisciplinary team to meet performance and reliability targets for off-highway applications.

The role emphasizes CAD-based schematic and harness design, component integration, and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Understanding of vehicle electrical systems and engineering principles.
• Interest in electrical architectures and harness design.
• Strong problem-solving and detail orientation.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle electrical systems and wiring architectures.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics and harness designs using CAD tools (Zuken E3 and Siemens NX).
• Assist with specification and integration of electrical and electronic components.
• Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Produce engineering documentation and reports.
• Participate in design reviews and issue investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver electrical system solutions.
• Support continuous improvement and standardisation in the EDS team.

The Opportunity – Senior EDS Engineer

As an EDS Engineer, you will support the development of electrical systems for current and future JCB products. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to the design, integration, testing, and validation of vehicle electrical architectures and components, ensuring solutions meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements for off-highway applications.

What does this role involve day to day?

• Supporting the design and development of vehicle electrical systems and wiring architectures.
• Creating and maintaining electrical schematics and harness designs using CAD tools (Zuken E3 and Siemens NX preferred, but not essential)
• Assisting with the specification and integration of electrical and electronic components
• Supporting the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components.
• Producing engineering documentation, technical specifications, and reports.
• Participating in design reviews and supporting issue investigation activities.
• Working with cross-functional teams to deliver electrical system solutions.
• Supporting continuous improvement and standardisation activities within the EDS team.

This will be suited to you if…

• You hold a degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• You have an understanding of vehicle electrical systems and engineering principles.
• You are keen to develop your knowledge of electrical architectures, harness design, and component integration.
• You have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• You have a solid understanding of machine electrical components and harness architectures for offroad applications
• You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Experience with electrical CAD tools would be advantageous but is not essential
