Job summary

JCB is seeking a Senior Controls & Integration Engineer to lead machine control system integration, testing and validation. You will define test strategies, diagnose cross-functional issues and mentor engineers to drive robust machine development and testing.

Key responsibilities include leading integration across programmes, root cause analysis and verifying systems against requirements, with strong emphasis on CAN tools and MATLAB/Simulink.

About the role

The Senior Controls & Integration Engineer provides technical leadership for machine control system integration, testing and validation activities. The role is responsible for ensuring robust machine behaviour through systematic verification, fault diagnosis and control system optimisation, while mentoring engineers and driving best practice in machine development and testing.

• Work closely with system architects and software teams to resolve integration challenges.

Even better if …

• You have a degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• You have significant experience developing, integrating and validating control systems in off-highway, automotive, agricultural or industrial vehicles.
• You have strong hands-on machine testing, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting capability.
• You have proven experience leading machine integration and validation activities.
• You have extensive experience using CAN diagnostic, calibration and data analysis tools.
• You have a good understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, functional decomposition, architecture development, verification and validation.
• You have experience developing or supporting control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
• You have experience defining test strategies, test plans and verification activities.
• You have the ability to lead technical investigations and drive root cause resolution across multiple engineering disciplines.
• You have experience mentoring engineers and supporting capability development.
