Job summary

Eden Scott is seeking a Senior ECoW to support major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the north of Scotland. This role is site-based, leading ecological compliance on live projects and mentoring a small team of ECoWs and ecologists.

Responsibilities include supervising ecological work on site, ensuring compliance with legislation and commitments, advising contractors and stakeholders, and producing site reports and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an ECoW in Scotland.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological best practice.
• Experience working on infrastructure, construction, energy, or renewable projects.
• The confidence to engage with contractors and influence project delivery on site.
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
• The ability to lead a small team and manage competing priorities.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Providing ecological supervision and support during construction activities.
• Monitoring compliance with environmental and ecological commitments.
• Advising contractors, site teams, and project stakeholders on ecological matters.
• Producing site reports, toolbox talks, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinating and overseeing ecological mitigation measures.
• Supporting the management and development of junior team members.
• Leading a small team and ensuring high standards of delivery across projects.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
