Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking an Ecologist / Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to provide specialist ecological advice and site-based support across major infrastructure projects in Scotland. The role focuses on compliance with environmental legislation and protected species licences on live sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology or related discipline.
• CIEEM membership or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong knowledge of Scottish protected species requirements.
• Experience as ECoW or providing construction-phase ecological support.

Responsibilities

• Act as ECoW for construction activities requiring ecological supervision.
• Undertake pre-construction ecological checks and surveys.
• Provide ecological input into Environmental Impact Assessments and project documentation.
• Develop Species Protection Plans and mitigation measures.
• Maintain ecological records and constraints registers.
• Monitor compliance with ecological mitigation requirements.
