Job summary

Eden Scott is seeking a Senior ECoW to support major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the north of Scotland. This role is site-based, leading ecological compliance on live projects and mentoring a small team of ECoWs and ecologists.

Responsibilities include supervising ecological work on site, ensuring compliance with legislation and commitments, advising contractors and stakeholders, and producing site reports and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an ECoW in Scotland.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological best practice.
• Experience working on infrastructure, construction, energy, or renewable projects.
• The confidence to engage with contractors and influence project delivery on site.
• Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior staff.
• The ability to lead a small team and manage competing priorities.
• A full UK driving licence.

Senior ECoW (Ecological Clerk of Works) - Caithness

We are support an environmental consultancy with the appointment of a Senior ECoW to support the delivery of major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the north of Scotland.

This is an opportunity for an experienced ECoW who enjoys being site-based, leading ecological compliance on live projects, and mentoring less experienced team members.

The Role

As a Senior ECoW, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered in line with ecological commitments, environmental legislation, and best practice guidance. You'll act as a trusted advisor to contractors and project teams while helping to lead and develop a small team of ECoWs and ecologists.

Projects include wind farm developments, battery energy storage systems, transmission infrastructure, housing developments, transport infrastructure, and major commercial schemes.
