Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their Liverpool team. You will manage medium to large ecological projects, lead surveys and ECoW work, and produce high-quality ecological assessments and management plans.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree, be or be working towards Associate/Full CIEEM membership, and have strong project management and report-writing skills, with knowledge of UK ecology legislation.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and strong consultancy experience.
• CIEEM membership (Associate/Full) or working towards it.
• Strong project management and report-writing skills.
• Excellent knowledge of UK ecology legislation and guidance.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Living in or within commuting distance of Liverpool office.

Responsibilities

• Managing medium to large and complex ecological projects.
• Leading surveys, site visits and ECoW work.
• Producing high-quality ecological assessments, reports and management plans.
• Providing specialist ecological advice to clients and stakeholders.
• Managing subcontractors and quality-checking project deliverables.
• Line managing and mentoring junior ecologists.
• Supporting business development, tenders and client relationships.
