isepglobal in Newcastle is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join a well-established environmental consultancy. You will lead ecological surveys, assessments, and reporting across the UK, mentoring junior ecologists and guiding projects from inception to completion in a collaborative, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Proven consultancy experience within ecology sector.
• Strong report writing and project management capabilities.
• Protected species licences (desirable).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Membership of CIEEM (preferred).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing ecological surveys, assessments, and technical reporting.
• Carrying out protected species surveys and habitat assessments.
• Managing projects, budgets, and client relationships.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the ecology team.
• Assisting with business development and tender submissions.
• Liaising with planners, developers, and key stakeholders.
• Ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and to a high technical standard.
