Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is working with an independent ecological consultancy based in Bristol to appoint a Senior Ecologist to join its growing team.

You will lead delivery of ecological surveys, assessments and reports across projects UK-wide, working with principal ecologists to develop your consultancy and technical skills.

The role offers flexible working from home, a clear path for career progression and mentoring from experienced specialists within a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 2 bat license.
• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Experience in consultancy or ecological survey work.
• Good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Experience undertaking habitat and protected species surveys.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• CIEEM membership or working towards membership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking protected species and habitat surveys.
• Supporting ecological impact assessments and reporting.
• Project management and client liaison.
• Contributing to biodiversity and mitigation strategies.
• Survey planning and project delivery.
• Working collaboratively across infrastructure, residential and environmental projects.
• Mentoring juniors.
