Job summary

CleanTech Talent is seeking a Senior Ecologist to lead ecological surveys, reports, and advisory work from Bristol with a flexible hybrid setup. You will manage projects, liaise with clients and regulators, and help deliver Environmental Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain work across UK sites.

The role requires a degree in Ecology or related field, at least 2 years’ ecological consultancy experience, knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, proficiency in GIS (QGIS preferred), a full UK

Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 2+ years ecological consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policies.
• Experience conducting and leading ecological surveys.
• Knowledge of UKHab survey techniques and Statutory BNG.
• GIS experience (QGIS) preferred.
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
• Membership of CIEEM or working towards it.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecological surveys (protected species, habitat assessments UKHab).
• Prepare EcIA and Biodiversity Net Gain reports.
• Advise clients on ecological constraints and mitigation.
• Collaborate with landscape planning and arboriculture teams.
• Support Environmental Impact Assessments and planning applications.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Contribute to fee proposals and tenders.
