Job summary

Pebble Recruitment Ltd. invites applications for a Senior Ecologist (or Principal Ecologist) to join their Bristol team on a hybrid basis. The role offers genuine progression, a varied project portfolio and increasing technical, project management and client-facing responsibilities.

The successful candidate will work across ecology, planning, infrastructure and development projects, with strong technical support, flexible working and a collaborative team culture in the South West.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering ecology projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of UK protected species legislation and planning processes.
• Ability to manage budgets, deadlines and workloads effectively.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical ecology reports (PEAs, EcIAs, surveys).
• Proven track record in client-facing roles and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver ecology projects across Bristol and the South West.
• Coordinate protected species surveys and habitat surveys.
• Prepare and review technical reports and mitigation strategies.
• Support clients through planning and development processes.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Assist with business development and work-winning where appropriate.
