Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Ecologist for its Bristol team. The role involves managing ecology projects from start to finish, coordinating fieldwork and delivering reports like Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.

The successful candidate will guide junior staff, contribute to client communications and uphold high-quality ecological guidance within a multidisciplinary setting in Bristol.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Ecologist managing ecology projects.
• Strong technical reporting and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with UK Hab surveys, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) principles and tools such as QGIS.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver ecology projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare and review reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments and protected species surveys.
• Coordinate fieldwork and supervise junior team members.
• Support client and project management with clear communication and timely delivery.
