We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering ecological services and projects for a range of clients on time and on budget.

Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy has been delivering high quality ecological services to clients in Worcestershire and beyond for over 30 years. Our team provides sound and practical advice across a range of ecological services. We are looking for someone to join the growing team to help the consultancy deliver high quality services in line with the needs of our clients and best ecological practice.

About you

• A minimum of four years professional experience in ecological consultancy
• A passion for wildlife conservation and practical ecological application
• Effective communication and report writing skills
• Good time and project management skills
• A wide understanding of ecological issues and preferably a holder of at least one protected species licence
• A full UK driving licence is essential
• Hybrid working – office at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester WR3 8SZ with regular travel within Worcestershire and occasionally further afield
• The Trust Pension Scheme is a Salary Sacrifice Scheme with Royal London. Employees sacrifice a minimum of 4% and the Trust then contributes an additional 8% plus the Employers National Insurance savings made due to the salary sacrifice element
• Annual leave is 33 days (inclusive of eight bank holidays with three days required to be used to cover the closure between Christmas and New Year) increasing by one day per three years of service to a maximum of 38 days
• Group Life Assurance policy worth three times annual salary
• Health Cash Plan and Wellbeing Services provided via HealthShield
• Contractual Sick Pay

Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy is part of a network of Wildlife Trust Consultancies. As such we can draw on the expertise and experience of 20 other consultancy teams across the UK.

The work of the ecological consultancy team plays a vital role in delivering our vision of a wilder Worcestershire where there is more nature everywhere for everyone.The postholder will therefore play a key role in delivering the Trust’s three strategic goals set out in ourstrategy to 2030, which are:

• Nature in recovery: 30% of land for nature by 2030
• Action for nature: one in fourtaking action for nature by 2030
• Sustaining our future: more diversity, more funding and carbon zero by 2030

This is a permanent contract and we will consider between 1.0 and 0.8 FTE (35 – 28 hours per week).
