Qualifications

• Associate or Full Member of CIEEM (or eligible for membership).
• Valid UK driving licence.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a well-established property consultancy. This role can be full-time or part-time, offering a starting salary of £30,000 and benefits.

Role Overview

As a Senior Ecologist, you will coordinate and carry out protected species surveys and associated mitigation projects.

Responsibilities

1. Advise clients on ecological constraints and survey requirements.
2. Prepare ecology chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
3. Manage and support a team of ecologists to deliver efficient, cost-effective project solutions.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as an Ecologist, Senior Ecologist, Ecological Consultant, Ecological Surveyor, or in a similar role.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in carrying out BNG assessments.
• Background in protected species surveys, license applications, and mitigation planning.
• Proven track record with species such as bats, dormice, GCN, reptiles, or badgers.
• A relevant degree in ecology or a related subject.
• Understanding of UK and European environmental legislation.
• Associate or Full Member of CIEEM (or eligible for membership).
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
