Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced professional to lead and grow a nationally significant environmental compliance service. The Associate Director will provide technical leadership for Ecological and Environmental Clerk of Works services across the UK & Ireland, including building a strong partner network and ensuring high-quality delivery for major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Environmental and/or Ecological Clerk of Works on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction-phase ecological and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience working with contractors and construction delivery teams.
• Knowledge of secondary consents including planning conditions, DCOs, environmental permits and licensing.
• Experience reviewing, assuring and approving environmental compliance deliverables.
• Strong ecological background with credibility to act as technical lead and quality reviewer for ECoW services.
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers or specialist delivery partners.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience supporting business development and client engagement.
• CIEEM membership or equivalent, preferably chartered.

Responsibilities

• Act as AECOM's UK&I lead for ECoW and EnvCoW services.
• Lead verification for ECoW-related deliverables by internal teams and partners.
• Ensure projects are resourced, mobilised and delivered to quality standards.
• Provide expert advice on ecological risk management and consent implementation.
• Support growth of the environmental compliance service line.
