Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer (Band 7) to join the Cardio-Respiratory Department. The post offers full-time or part-time hours and a salary in the range of £49,387–£56,515 per annum pro rata.

The successful candidate will perform advanced echocardiography, contribute to a busy multidisciplinary team, and support the development of services including BSE accreditation pathways.

Qualifications

• Degree in Clinical Physiology or Healthcare science - equivalent.
• Qualified in accredited courses in specialist areas BSE.
• RCCP registration.
• At least 3 years post qualification experience.
• Able to independently perform a range of Cardiology investigations including Echocardiography.
• Demonstrate responsibility towards others.
• Documented evidence of good clinical practice.
• ILS.

Responsibilities

• Highly specialist diagnostic cardiology ultrasound including echocardiography, stress echo and assisting Transoesophageal Echocardiography.
• Perform a range of Echocardiography procedures using knowledge and skills.
• Skills to interpret complex results and produce a diagnostic report.
• Communicate complex information with patients, relatives or carers, ensuring privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained via stock control or purchase requisition.

Education

Degree in Clinical Physiology or Healthcare science - equivalent

RCCP registration

At least 3 years post qualification experience
