Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a clinically excellent Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist/Echocardiographer to join the Cardiac Physiology department across Oxford and Banbury sites. You will report to the Head of Cardiac Physiology and lead a team of experienced physiologists and nurse practitioners, delivering a wide range of cardiac investigations and reports.

The role requires postgraduate level working, leadership skills, and a commitment to professional development

Qualifications

• STP/ BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent (essential).
• Relevant experience performing at Band 6 level (essential).
• Evidence of ongoing professional development (essential).
• Demonstrates ability to support junior and senior staff (essential).
• Professional registration and qualifications as applicable (RCCP) (essential).

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Cardiac Physiology in operational matters and use of resources.
• Develop a dynamic cardiac physiology team with a unified vision for future planning.
• Implement quality initiatives within Cardiac Medicine via standards, audits and evaluation.
• Collaborate to meet Trust targets for diagnostic test waiting times and governance frameworks.
• Develop and evaluate protocols and procedures based on current evidence/research.
• Monitor activity ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
• Promote efficient resource use through education and example.
• Ensure induction/orientation and mentoring for new staff.
