Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiographer (Band 7) on a permanent basis. The post involves full-time and part-time options, with a 37.5 hour week and an annual salary in the range stated below.

The successful candidate will undertake highly specialist diagnostic cardiology ultrasound, including echocardiography and stress echo, and will work within a busy multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Clinical Physiology or Healthcare science – equivalent.
• Qualified in accredited courses in specialist areas BSE.
• RCCP registration.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience.
• Able to independently perform a range of Cardiology investigations including Echocardiography.
• Demonstrate responsibility towards others.
• Documented evidence of good clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Highly specialist diagnostic cardiology ultrasound, including echocardiography and stress echo.
• Perform a range of Echocardiography procedures.
• Interpret complex results and produce diagnostic reports.
• Explain procedures to patients and carers with sensitivity while ensuring privacy and dignity.
• Ensure availability, cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain stock levels and manage purchasing requisitions.
