Senior EC&I Engineer – Nuclear & High-Integrity Systems

Job summary

Progressive in the Midlands is seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join a growing team delivering complex industrial automation and machine control solutions.

Working across the full project lifecycle, you will produce Electrical, Control & Instrumentation designs from concept through to installation and commissioning, with exposure to highly regulated environments including nuclear and other high-integrity sectors.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electrical and control system design in industrial environments.
• Proven experience designing bespoke machinery and systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation and machine control systems.
• Eligibility for SC Clearance or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Produce EC&I designs to customer and project requirements.
• Develop control panel layouts and detailed engineering drawings.
• Produce electrical schematics and interlock diagrams.
• Generate manufacturing and installation documentation.
• Specify PLCs, HMIs, motor starters and instrumentation.
• Design power distribution and safety-related control systems.
• Produce hardware specifications and bills of materials.
• Support projects to budgets and schedules.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning activities.
