Job summary

Ignite Talent Group is seeking a Senior EC&I Engineer to support a major programme in a safety-critical, highly regulated nuclear environment. You will contribute to EC&I design work, ensure quality deliverables, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across design, delivery and operations.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Controls & Instrumentation, Chartered Engineer status or progress towards it, and strong knowledge of nuclear codes and IEC 61508/61511 standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is highly desirable.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry, nuclear experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nuclear engineering codes, standards and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to deliver EC&I design within safety-critical environments.
• Experience producing high-quality engineering documentation.
• Good understanding of control and instrumentation systems.
• Familiarity with IEC 61508/61511 functional safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EC&I engineering activities across design and asset support scopes.
• Produce and check engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, and reports.
• Develop control system design packages and functional safety documentation.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support safety case activities (HAZOP/HAZID) and design substantiation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, delivery and operations.
