Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen Council is seeking a Senior Early Years Worker within Family Hubs & Children's Centre Nurseries to lead the nursery team and drive high standards of care and development for children aged 2-5.

Working with the Nursery Teacher, you will oversee day-to-day operations, support staff, and coordinate with Health, Education and Children's Services to promote school readiness and family support.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a nursery or early years team.
• Ability to coach and mentor staff and monitor quality improvement.
• Experience safeguarding and early intervention in families.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership for the nursery team and drive high standards of care and learning.
• Plan and deliver outstanding learning experiences for children aged 2–5 years.
• Champion school readiness and child-centred learning.
• Use children's voices to shape engaging provision.
• Support staff development through supervision and mentoring.
• Lead on quality assurance, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to safeguarding and early intervention for families.
• Collaborate with Family Hubs, Health, Education and Children's Services.
