Job summary

Blackburn with Darwen Council seeks enthusiastic Early Years Workers for our children’s centre nurseries on a term-time basis. You will plan and implement activities to support children aged 2-5 years and work with the Teacher and Senior Early Years Worker to deliver engaging learning experiences.

The role requires understanding child development, conducting assessments/observations under EYFS, and safeguarding with a positive, flexible, and creative approach to benefiting children and families.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in childcare is essential.
• Experience delivering learning activities to young children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities to support children’s learning.
• Deliver effective teaching and learning opportunities for children aged 2-5 years.
• Complete quality assessments and observations in line with the EYFS.
• Work closely with the Teacher and Senior Early Years Worker to support a multi-disciplinary team.
• Be confident in identifying safeguarding issues and acting appropriately.
