Job summary

YMCA Fairthorne Group is seeking a Lead Early Years Practitioner to join the nursery leadership team. You will strengthen practice across the setting, observe children, coach colleagues and help ensure children with additional needs are identified and supported early.

This role is primarily supernumerary with room to impact across the nursery and wider safeguarding responsibilities. You’ll work directly with children, supporting practitioners, families and leaders to embed high standards of

Qualifications

• Experience in an Early Years setting and capability to improve practice.
• Safeguarding awareness and health and safety understanding.
• Paediatric First Aid and DSL training would be beneficial, with support to complete if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice across the nursery and influence practice in all rooms.
• Observe children, identify additional needs, and develop appropriate support plans.
• Coach colleagues and model strong Early Years practice.
• Coordinate referrals and next steps for specialist support as required.
• Support safeguarding and ensure high standards of care and practice.
