Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a drainage engineering leader to shape and deliver drainage solutions across complex highway, rail, and wider transportation projects in the UK. You will provide technical judgement, direct design delivery, and influence multidisciplinary decisions to achieve practical, sustainable outcomes.

You will also mentor engineers, help develop the drainage capability of the team, and contribute to bids and project development to grow Jacobs' reach in the transportation sector.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in drainage engineering within highways, rail or similar infrastructure environments.
• Ability to lead drainage design and provide assurance on complex projects.
• Experience taking drainage projects through multiple stages of design and delivery.
• Knowledge of UK drainage principles and standards (DMRB and rail standards).
• Experience applying SuDS principles to infrastructure projects.
• Experience using drainage modelling and design tools.
• Understanding of health, safety and risk in engineering design.
• Experience developing other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in shaping and delivering drainage solutions across complex highway, rail and wider transportation projects.
• Provide technical judgement and leadership to solve challenging drainage problems and ensure practical, sustainable outcomes.
• Mentor and develop engineers to strengthen technical capability within the drainage discipline.
• Contribute to bids and project development to grow the drainage capability across Jacobs.
