Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a drainage engineering leader to shape and deliver drainage solutions across major UK infrastructure projects, including highways and rail.

You will provide technical judgement, influence multidisciplinary teams and mentor engineers while delivering sustainable, high‑quality outcomes. You will collaborate with clients and specialists, drive feasibility through to detailed design, and help grow the drainage capability across the team and bids for future

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in drainage engineering within highways/rail or similar infrastructure.
• Technical judgement to lead drainage design and provide assurance on complex projects.
• Experience taking drainage projects through multiple design and delivery stages.
• Knowledge of UK drainage design principles and standards (DMRB and rail standards).
• Experience applying SuDS to infrastructure projects.
• Experience using drainage modelling and design tools.
• Understanding of health, safety and risk in engineering design.
• Experience developing other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage solutions across complex highway, rail and transport projects.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance on challenging designs.
• Mentor and develop engineers within the drainage team.
• Influence multidisciplinary design decisions and project delivery.
• Support bids and project development to grow drainage capability.
