Job summary

Jacobs in the United Kingdom is seeking a highway drainage design engineer to take ownership of drainage design across a growing portfolio of local authority transport projects. You’ll work from feasibility to construction documentation, applying drainage modelling and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will contribute to project planning, cost forecasting and bids, while helping clients balance performance, value and safety.

Qualifications

Practical knowledge of drainage design on highway/transport projects.
Experience on feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design or construction information.
Ability to use drainage modelling/design software.
Understanding of DMRB, SuDS and related standards.
Knowledge of health, safety and designer responsibilities in engineering.
Ability to explain technical information clearly to colleagues and clients.
Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent practical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of highway drainage design across a growing portfolio of local authority projects.
Develop and review drainage designs from feasibility to construction documentation.
Use modelling tools to test options and coordinate with other disciplines.
Contribute to project planning, cost forecasting and bids.
