Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to shape drainage design for major UK transport schemes across highways and rail. You will collaborate with clients and specialists, leading technical delivery from concept through detailed design and into construction, while mentoring engineers in a high-performing UK Transportation team.

You’ll contribute to innovative, sustainable drainage solutions, ensuring quality and safety across National Highways, Network Rail, and Local Authorities

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Chartered or working towards Chartered or Incorporated status.
• Working knowledge of H&S legislation.
• Ability using drainage modelling software and tools.
• Experience delivering drainage/transport projects.
• Understanding of DMRB/UK rail standards, SuDS Manual and related standards.
• Proven experience in highway drainage design.

Responsibilities

• Deliver drainage designs across feasibility to contract documentation stages.
• Lead multidisciplinary collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, forecast costs, and support programme and budget management.
• Champion innovation and best value in design sustainability and delivery methods.
• Ensure CDM Designer responsibilities and compliance with Jacobs quality systems.
