Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer in Bristol to lead and contribute to the delivery of drainage strategies for infrastructure projects. You will design, manage and deliver drainage solutions, liaising with clients and authorities to secure approvals and ensure success.

You will also mentor junior staff, prepare fees and reports, and contribute to ongoing knowledge sharing within the team, while working in a collaborative environment that values innovation and

Qualifications

• BEng/MEng/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status or working towards chartered.
• Experience in drainage design for development infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of SuDS, Flood Risk, Building Regulations, DCG and planning policy.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage, MS Office, Bluebeam.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop drainage strategies and designs for private and adoptable systems.
• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports.
• Produce hydraulic modeling and drainage design using industry-standard software.
• Produce technical drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, water companies for approvals (S104, S106, S185, SAB, LLFA).
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Prepare fee proposals, monitor budgets and deadlines.
• Attend design team and site meetings and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and technical development.
