Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior/Principal Drainage Engineer to join the drainage team working on highway and development projects. You will support and deputise for the Drainage Associate Director and lead project delivery, budgets, and resourcing.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare technical outputs, and ensure designs comply with standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated civil engineering experience within a consultancy.
• Experience delivering surface/waste water drainage design and approvals.
• Experience in drainage design on major and minor projects.
• Familiarity with Sewers for Adoption/Scotland & DMRB, MfS and related guides.
• Good understanding of health and safety including CDM.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/Micro-Drainage/Info Drainage; Civil3D knowledge beneficial.
• Experience in project management with financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own financial, technical and project management control of drainage projects.
• Direct Engineers and Technicians; develop junior staff.
• Produce technical outputs, drawings and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and clients; manage scope and proposals.
• Lead development of teams, projects and client relationships.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget, quality delivery; site visits as needed.
