Job summary

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) seeks an Information Governance Manager and Data Protection Officer to oversee data protection, information governance, and advisory duties. The post is full-time, 36 hours per week, across Bangor, Lisburn, Newtownards or Downpatrick campuses.

The role requires ensuring compliance with data protection laws, governance codes, and advising management on risk. A strong governance background and statutory DPO responsibilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in information governance and data protection.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR / DPA 2018 and FOI.
• Public sector or FE sector experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, FOI and information governance standards.
• Act as Data Protection Officer and governance advisor to the College.
• Develop and implement information governance policies and training.
• Liaise with campus sites (Bangor, Lisburn, Newtownards, Downpatrick) to embed practices.
