Job summary

Coleg y Cymoedd is seeking a Head of Compliance and Data Protection Officer to lead its compliance assurance function and act as DPO. You will provide independent oversight across regulatory compliance, data protection and information governance, working with senior leaders and the Governing Body to ensure robust systems and controls.

Your role covers DPIAs, policy reviews, information governance reforms, and preparing for Medr reporting and assurance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior data protection/compliance professional in a regulated environment.
• Ability to translate complex regulation into practical guidance for senior leadership.
• Proven track record in developing compliance frameworks, policies and risk monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the college's compliance assurance function and act as DPO.
• Provide independent oversight on data protection, information governance and regulatory compliance.
• Advise senior leaders and governance bodies on data protection matters and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee DPIAs, Subject Access Requests, FOI responses and information asset registers.
• Develop and maintain policies, registers and risk-based monitoring arrangements.
