We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Distribution Network Designer at Perth Office CBD on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

About this role

As the Senior Distribution Network Designer, you will perform complex technical tasks related to the design of the Western Power Distribution Network. You will undertake investigations and coordinate process improvements through technical leadership. Your responsibilities include:

People
  • Maintaining a safe working environment
  • Facilitating open and trusting workplace relations and communication
  • Managing performance and personal effectiveness
  • Supporting a flexible work culture
  • Assisting with training development for new staff
  • Using Western Power’s systems effectively
  • Guiding and coaching team members
Scheduling
  • Planning daily and weekly work to meet targets
  • Supporting project management plans
  • Optimizing resource use to meet outputs
  • Providing technical support to other groups
  • Supporting Front Line employees
Technical
  • Identifying performance improvement opportunities
  • Implementing continuous improvement processes
  • Following business procedures
  • Documenting variations to procedures
  • Ensuring legal and contractual compliance
  • Preparing and reviewing project estimates
  • Maintaining documentation in computer systems
  • Administering contracts to ensure compliance and quality
  • Responding to customer and public inquiries
About you

We seek candidates with:

  • Advanced Diploma in electrical discipline
  • At least 9+ years of experience in distribution network activities
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Understanding of project, contract, and works management systems
  • Knowledge of Distribution Engineering standards and regulations
  • Proficiency in systems like Ellipse, DQM, DOCS/DMS, Spida, DFMS, MS Office
  • Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
