As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms (IP) team, you lead multiple technical areas, directing the activities of various groups, and collaborate across domains. Your expertise helps drive the adoption of technical methods and keeps the firm at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

This role is for a senior engineer to define and drive engineering practices and standards across Infrastructure Platforms (IP), an engineering group with over 5000 engineers. Reporting to the Head of Engineering Practices for IP, you'll lead transformations to elevate our engineering quality and execution.

Job Responsibilities

1. Define and lead multiple technology and process implementations to achieve firmwide objectives in a matrix environment.
2. Manage multiple areas with strategic transactional focus, influencing peers for alignment and execution.
3. Establish strategic goals and detail development processes for platforms, services, and products, balancing big-picture vision with ground-level opportunities for change.
4. Engage with technical nuances of infrastructure systems, agile processes, and standards for technology development across IP.
5. Provide leadership and high-level direction to teams across the business.
6. Act as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives to drive consensus.
7. Manage stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations.
8. Collaborate with IP architecture, engineering practices leads, and risk partners to deliver compliant, business-enabling solutions.
9. Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology domains.
10. Drive large-scale change focused on outcomes and culture.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in Software Engineering with extensive applied experience.
• Recent hands-on coding experience in any IDE and deep expertise in code development.
• Experience with AI coding tools and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience leading large or cross-functional teams and managing senior relationships.
• Knowledge of IAC tools, AWS, K8S, and CI/CD tools, especially JPMC's JET toolchain.
• Proven ability to influence in complex, matrixed organizations and deliver value at scale.
• Experience in system design, testing, and operational stability of complex projects.
• Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Extensive practical cloud experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial services controls and standards is advantageous.
