As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms (IP) team, you will lead multiple technical areas, directing activities across various groups, and collaborating across domains. Your expertise will drive the adoption of technical methods, help the firm stay at the forefront of industry trends, and improve engineering practices.

This role involves defining and driving engineering standards for a large group of over 5000 engineers, reporting to the Head of Engineering Practices for IP, and leading transformation efforts to elevate quality and execution.

Job Responsibilities

1. Define and lead multiple technology and process implementations to achieve firm-wide objectives.
2. Manage strategic transactional focus areas, influencing peers for alignment and execution.
3. Establish strategic goals and detail development practices for platforms, services, and products.
4. Engage with technical nuances of infrastructure systems, agile processes, and controls.
5. Provide leadership and high-level direction to teams across the business.
6. Act as the primary interface with senior leaders and stakeholders, driving consensus.
7. Manage stakeholders, complex projects, and large collaborations.
8. Collaborate with engineering practices, architecture, and risk teams to deliver compliant solutions.
9. Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business and technology.
10. Drive large-scale change focused on outcomes and culture.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

1. Formal training or certification in Software Engineering and practical experience.
2. Recent hands-on coding experience in any IDE and expertise in programming languages.
3. Experience with AI coding tools and LLMs.
4. Leadership experience with large or cross-functional teams and managing senior relationships.
5. Knowledge of IAC tools, AWS, K8S, CI/CD tools, and familiarity with JPMC's Developer toolchain (JET).
6. Proven ability to influence in complex, matrixed organizations and deliver value at scale.
7. Experience with system design, testing, operational stability, and talent development.
8. Extensive cloud-native experience and a background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial services controls and standards is advantageous.
