Job summary

LGC Ltd is seeking a Head of Clinical Trial Recruitment & Workforce to lead national recruitment improvements and workforce planning across NHS R&D networks and commercial partners.

In partnership with the NIHR Life Sciences Industry Hub, you will develop and implement a plan to increase recruitment for commercial trials, align strategies with national priorities, and manage high‑level stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Extensive operational experience in driving clinical-trial recruitment and delivery within NHS or a commercial sponsor environment.
• Experience navigating the UK clinical-trials lifecycle with HRA, MHRA, and NIHR systems.
• Strong workforce-capacity planning and management of R&D financial recovery/reinvestment.
• Data-driven dashboards to monitor recruitment velocity and mitigate delivery risks.

Responsibilities

• Workplan development and implementation with the Industry Hub Operations Director.
• Act as national authority linking NIHR R&D, NHS infrastructure, and industry sponsors.
• Collaborate with partners to remove silos between study set-up and trial delivery.
• Ensure workforce strategies align with NIHR Portfolio Lifecycle and 150-day timelines.
