Rivan Industries in London is seeking a senior process engineer to own the Direct Air Capture (DAC) process development at scale. You will lead design across CaCO3/CaO/Ca(OH)2 cycling, coordinate with mechanical and controls teams, and drive from bench testing to pilot operation and on-site commissioning at our South Bermondsey HQ.

You should have 5+ years in chemical engineering, experience with gas-solid systems, high-temperature processing, and scalable process development.

Formación

• 5+ years professional experience.
• Chemical engineering degree or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of gas-solid reaction systems and associated heat and mass-transfer limitations.
• Experience with lime, calcium looping, calcination/carbonation systems, or closely related mineral-processing chemistry.
• Experience designing or operating processes involving powders, granular solids or bulk solids handling. Strong understanding of solids hydrodynamics.
• Experience with high-temperature processing such as calcination, pyrolysis, roasting or thermal treatment.
• Experience scaling processes from bench or pilot scale toward industrial equipment, including identifying and validating scale-dependent limitations.
• Strong experimental design and data-analysis capability.
• Experience taking process equipment from design through commissioning and operation.

Responsabilidades

• Own process design and optimisation for the CaCO3-CaO-Ca(OH)2 loop.
• Develop and scale gas-solid reaction systems (calcination, hydration, carbonation).
• Design and optimise powder-handling and gas-solid contacting operations.
• Identify heat and mass transfer limits as equipment scales.
• Run bench and pilot tests to validate models and scale-up assumptions.
• Define process requirements, envelopes, balances and equipment specs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls and materials engineers to implement hardware.
• Lead commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and optimisation of DAC equipment.
