Job summary

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is seeking a Principal Technology Adviser – Online trust to shape the future of digital trust. You will influence policy and regulatory approaches related to public digital infrastructure, trust services and digital verification, collaborating with senior colleagues across the ICO’s Technology Department.

Hybrid working is offered with offices across Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of public key infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic concepts.
• Strong analytical and research skills with ability to identify technology trends.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and expertise on technology projects and information rights policy.
• Contribute to technical assessments, investigations and regulatory projects on online trust.
• Translate technical insights into practical regulatory and policy outcomes.
• Represent ICO in technical discussions, conferences and meetings requiring specialist knowledge.
