Job summary

Salford-Council's Information Governance (IG) Team is seeking a Principal IG Officer to strengthen compliance and information management. The role is based at the Civic Centre in Swinton with hybrid working.

You will advise on DPIAs, data sharing, processor agreements and privacy notices; provide training on data protection and FOI; represent the team at meetings; and manage your own caseload to a high standard. The role requires sound judgement and collaborative working.

Qualifications

• A good working knowledge of data protection legislation.
• Experience in information governance, compliance, records management or FOI would be beneficial.
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge and deliver high-quality advice.

Responsibilities

• Advise on DPIAs, data sharing, processor agreements and privacy notices; provide guidance on policies and procedures; support wider information management activity.
• Provide training on data protection and Freedom of Information.
• Represent the team at meetings and in working groups; contribute to day-to-day operational delivery; manage your own caseload to a high standard.
