Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Dietitian to join the Rehabilitation and Enablement Service in Renfrewshire HSCP. You will provide specialist dietetic assessment and nutritional support in patients’ homes and community settings, working with a multidisciplinary team to promote independence and recovery.

The role offers professional development opportunities, with travel across the community requiring a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Registration with HCPC.
• Significant post-registration dietetic experience including nutritional support and complex patient management.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across healthcare settings.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Good IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate patient records and utilise digital systems effectively.
• Full UK driving licence and access to transport to support community-based working.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist dietetic assessment, treatment and nutritional support for patients with a range of complex clinical and social needs.
• Manage and prioritise an independent caseload across community and rehabilitation settings.
• Assess, develop, implement and review individualised nutritional care plans to support rehabilitation and recovery.
• Provide specialist expertise in enteral feeding and nutritional support for patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support hospital avoidance, discharge planning and prevention of readmission.
• Deliver education, training and mentorship to healthcare staff, students and support workers.
• Contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement activities and evidence-based practice.
