Smarkets is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to lead the founding security build for our cloud-native trading environment. You will stand up security engineering from the ground up through go-live and scale, partnering with Infrastructure and Engineering to deploy controls, automation, and guardrails that keep our trading systems secure and compliant.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for financial services or exchanges.

Responsibilities

• Stand up security engineering from the ground up through go-live and scale.
• Design, build, and deploy security controls and guardrails across cloud-native platforms.
• Automate security processes as code and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct risk audits and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Monitor logs, detect anomalies, and support incident response and post-incident analysis.
• Plan and test security backups and disaster recovery.
